Words of wisdom…

People are often unreasonable,
illogical and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind,
People may accuse you
of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be Kind anyway.

If you are successful,
you will win some false friends and
some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank,
people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building,
someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway

If you find serenity and happiness,
they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today,
people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have,
and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you’ve got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis.
it is between you and God;
It is never between you and them anyway.

Recharged my batteries…

This past weekend was exactly what I needed.  I wish we had taken more pictures, the ones we did aren’t so flattering…but oh well.  I had a fabulous time with Mary, Chris, Shelly and the kiddos.  It was so nice to get away, if only for a couple of days.  We went shopping, sang karaoke, went bowling, and watched the Cowboys game.  Did you see it, AMAZING!!  Actually, it was kind of a sucky game…it should have been a slam dunk win for us, but I think our boys went in with that attitude and they were slacking off.  I will go easy on them because they did pull through in the end, and the last two minutes of the game definitely kept me on the edge of my seat.  Go Cowboys!!!  You should have seen us all watching the game, we all had on our Cowboys jerseys…even the kiddos had them, it was so cute.  Not to mention the Christmas Tree is decked out for the Cowboys.  Seriously, I think the Cowboys threw up all over Mary’s house…it’s Cowboys everywhere!!  :)

Here’s a couple of pictures from this past weekend, enjoy.

This was my favorite dress until I saw this picture and realized it looked like a dang MOO MOO on me.

Updates in my world…

This will be short and sweet.  No more boyfriend….that one sure didn’t last long.  However, he is the one guy I have always been able to remain friends with after dating.  We first dated almost 5 years ago…and have been friends ever since.  Recently we got the idea to give it another shot.  Unfortunately it didn’t work out, but thank goodness we’re both mature enough to still remain friends.  He will always hold a place in my heart because of all the things we’ve been through in the past, I still care for him, but now I know he’s just meant to be a good friend of mine, and that’s exactly what he shall remain.

The last three weeks have been a really bad stretch of luck for me.  My roommate was hospitalized, I broke up with my bf, my car got broken into, my best friend is still in rehab (which is a good thing, it’s just been stressful), we still don’t know if they are going to try to court martial Robert, I found out I have H Pylori which has caused me to get stomach ulcers…which are extremely painful, just hasn’t been the best of times for me.  I won’t elaborate on all these things (short and sweet, right?) but a few of them I will.

First, my car.  It’s my baby and some sorry S.O.B. decided to bust out my window at 4 am one night.  Well anyone who has any experience in breaking into cars would know that you don’t have to bust out my window to break-in.  My car is probably one of the easiest cars in the world to break into.  T-tops…duh!!  Anyways…so they busted out my window and stole all of my cds and my whole entire winter wardrobe.  I had just moved my winter wardrobe over from my parents house and I was too lazy to carry it all in.  I guess the theives thought maybe I had just gone shopping or something.  Jokes on them…that stuff was all from last year…old, used, already been worn stuff.  But, it was my stuff, and I loved it.  So right now I’m rotating the three long sleeve shirts I have with hoodies and sweatshirts trying to make due.  Luckily it hasn’t been too incredibly cold here yet.  What really ticks me off about the whole thing is that morning I heard people outside…I even went out on the balcony and yelled at them to shut up.  I just thought it was some drunken idiots coming home from a wild night….but nope.  They were breaking into my car.  Next time I will be sure to go out the front door and check.

 The stomach ulcers…oh man oh man.  Talk about pain.  Luckily with it just being H Pylori, a good heavy dose of antibiotics cleared it up and I shouldn’t get anymore.  But I missed nearly a whole week of work due to the pain and doctors appointments.  I don’t wish that on anyone.  I wasn’t allowed to drink the whole time….which was when all this other stuff was going on and I could have really used a good stiff drink, or 10.  Probably better this way though.

I’ve been working way too much, as usual.  But starting this week I’m no longer going to be working on Sundays.  So, from now on I will actually be able to have a real weekend.  Two whole full days of no work…in a row.  I can’t freaking wait.  I’m fully taking advantage of it this weekend and I’m going out of town to see Mary Ellen and her family.  It’s a long over due trip, I haven’t been out there since this summer and right now more than anything I just need to get away for a couple days.  Mary always knows the right things to say, she knows me better than anyone else.  Plus Mary said today that Bailee asked, ”Is Heather coming to see me?” and Mary told her yes and she got all excited.  She’s such a doll, I can’t wait.  It’s going to be a great weekend.

As corny as it may sound to some of you, I really just feel like God has been testing me these last few weeks.  I just know in my heart that it’s God doing His work and my ability to stay relatively positive and acknowlege Him during this time will help me through it.  I have been struggling and straying lately and I know this is His way of pulling me back to Him.  And it’s working.
